This is the M.2 SSD heatsink / mounting support bracket for the secondary (SSD2) M.2 2280 SSD card, for the XPS 17 9720, 9730, and Precision 5770 systems with the optional size 2280 M.2 storage. These systems were offered with different sized m.2 cards- this bracket is compatible ONLY with 2280 sized M.2 cards; for the secondary SSD slot (labeled SSD2).
