A MacBook 2017 may still handle basic tasks like web browsing and word processing in 2025, but it will likely struggle with newer software and may no longer receive security updates from Apple. Its battery life and hardware performance could also be noticeably diminished. For demanding tasks or long-term reliability, a newer model would be a better choice.
