U-2 is not inherently faster than SATA; in fact, U-2 is a connector specification that allows NVMe SSDs to connect to a system using the PCIe bus, which is much faster than SATA. NVMe drives using the U-2 connector typically offer much higher speeds compared to traditional SATA SSDs. So, it's not U-2 itself, but the NVMe technology it enables, that is faster than SATA.
