You can tell if your Roomba needs a new battery if it runs for a much shorter time than usual, doesn't hold a charge, or doesn't fully charge even after being docked for several hours. You may also notice the battery indicator light blinking red or error messages related to charging. If these issues persist after cleaning the contacts and resetting the Roomba, it's likely time for a new battery.
